森林浴や山野草・野鳥観察、いも煮会、キャンプなど幅広く利用されている水林自然林。水林自然林内は遊歩道が整備され、森の中を散策することが出来ます。自然林内には様々な動植物を生息しており、春には小川のほとりにカタクリの花が咲き、夏はクワガタ、秋は紅葉、そして冬にはニホンリスに出会えます。

KIGI /植原亮輔・渡邉良重

植原亮輔と渡邉良重によるクリエイティブユニット。 クリエイティブディレクション、グラフィック、空間、プロダクトデザイン、ムービーディレクションなどを幅広く手掛ける。一方で作品制作にも取り組み、芸術祭への参加やコミッションワークの制作、個展の開催などの作家活動を行う。 東京を拠点に活動し、ギャラリー＆ショップ「OFS.TOKYO」を有志のクリエイターと共に運営。ジャンルに拘らず自在な発想と表現力でクリエイションの新しいあり方を探し、活動している。 代官山ヒルサイドフォーラム「all is graphics」展（2022）、宇都宮美術館「KIGI WORK&FREE」展（2017）、大地の芸術祭越後妻有アートトリエンナーレに「スタンディング酒 BAR・酔独楽」出品（2018）。東京ADC会員賞（2011,2013,2017,2019,2023)、東京ADCグランプリ（2015）、亀倉雄策賞（11th植原,19th渡邉）等受賞。

《時間の標本》

私たちは、古い書物の真ん中あたりの見開き頁の表裏に、水彩絵の具でひとつひとつ蝶の絵を描いた。 描き終わった後、胴体に接するところは残して、蝶の羽のアウトラインを丁寧にカッターで切りとる。 そうすると製本された本の構造上、テンションの違いで切りとられた羽が自然と起き上がる。 私たちは、疑似的に蝶の生まれた瞬間に立ち会う。 

本との出会いは、人生の道しるべになることがある。読み手は、一冊の本の中で何かを決めるかもしれないし また、ある一文に出会うことで、進むべき方向を改めることがあるかもしれない。 

誰かにとって光が差し込んでくる瞬間。蝶が羽ばたくその姿は幸せの象徴。 私たちはこの “瞬間” を「時間の標本」として、残すことにした。 

Near the middle of the open pages of old books, front and back, we drew butterflies in watercolor, one by one.
After each drawing is done, we leave the parts in contact with the body intact and carefully cut away the outlines of the butterfly’s wings using a box cutter.
Doing so, owing to the structure of the bound volume, the differences in tension cause the cut-away wings to stand erect. We witness the moment of the butterfly’s birth, artificially. 

For the reader, a book sometimes serves as a signpost pointing out the direction in which to proceed.
Within a book the reader may perhaps come to some decision, or encountering a certain passage may sometimes send the reader off in the completely opposite direction. 

For some, it is a moment when light shines in. The sight of a butterfly taking wing is a symbol of happiness. We decided to retain this “moment” as a “specimen of time.”
